November

I keep feeling like I should come here and write something but then I come here and I've got nothing.

It's so much easier to throw a picture up on instagram(I had to go private again. Stalker) or one sentence on Facebook.  I do miss blogging though. Especially reading other people's.

Been busy.  Super busy.

Work. Sucking the life out of me.  It's the time of year. Everyone wants to come in before January first.  Well guess what people?  We're booked. You should have planned ahead like everyone else.

Every day is an exercise in patience.

But I'm lucky to have a job.

Holiday prep is in full swing.

Commercials, decorations, and Christmas lights are popping up every day.

I'm loving all of it.

Christmas is in 35 days.   Thirty five days!!

We will be making our yearly trek up to my sister's house for thanksgiving again.  It will be just the three of us for thanksgiving dinner this year, since my sister's Ex-hole(sorry. It fits) has the kids on thanksgiving day this year.

But we get them the day after and for the weekend.   We're going to get a Christmas tree, and watch Christmas movies and do all sorts of fun stuff.  I'm excited.

I told Lisa we didn't need to do anything fancy for dinner.  Pizza would be fine with me but she says she's still going to get a turkey, which means we will have left overs for days.   Score!

Joe really wants to try the overnight drive again.  I'm not so sure. I didn't enjoy it at all last year at Christmas when we did it.  It is nice to wake up and be there but it's brutal.

If he gets his way we will leave at eight or eight thirty and arrive by two or three am.  I am wondering if the traffic will still be bad though.  Last year at Christmas we left on the 23rd so there was no traffic.  I have a feeling it won't be so for thanksgiving.  We will see.

I'm almost done Christmas shopping and our staff Christmas party is a little over three weeks away, which is always a great time. I especially tend to have a good time, as my co workers will tell you if you ask.  :)

I'm getting a Christmas tree this weekend(a fake one). I know it's early!  I don't care.

I got new bedding. I love the colors. It's been eight years since I bought myself new bedding.  I needed something that would go with the yellow walls in my room and I love turquoise so when I saw this pattern I knew it was perfect.  Love it!  On my Christmas list too is new towels.  It's funny how our wish list changes when we are grown up.

I had a lovely ride on Saturday.  My back seems to be on the mend. Thankfully.

Bentley is going to move to his new home in a couple of weeks.  I'm excited to see the new place and also have another horse to ride so maybe joe and I can ride together!
We house sat last week and I got to cook in a kitchen again.  I made the most delicious meal.  I forgot how much I miss having a kitchen. Hopefully not much longer.  I'm so ready for my own place.  So ready.
It was soooooo good.

I suppose that's all for now.  Nothing too exciting here.

'Tis the season

Almost.  More on that later.

threw out my back. Like, badly.

I haven't thrown it out this badly in three years.

I can hardly stand upright.  Thank God I mostly sit at work.  When I'm not sitting  I'm walking hunched over like an old woman.

Which is exactly how I feel.

Old.

It's  going on five days now and it's tiring.

Pain is exhausting.

Sigh.

Joe and I found this little market tonight while we were on the way to Home Depot.  It turned out to be a Persian market and they had all sorts of yummy looking things that we had no idea what they were.

Saw this on the shelf and I was intrigued.

Yogurt Soda.

I totally would have bought it because I'm not afraid to try new things but it was $6.00 for a two liter bottle!  That's a little steep for something I don't know if I'll like or not.

Anyone heard of this?

My friend who is letting me care for her horse bought a house with land on it so they'll be moving Bentley from the stables he is at now to there.

I'm not going to lie. When I first found out it made me sad.

It's going to be really awesome in other ways.  It won't be that far from me. She's going to have two horses so we can ride together.  I can go there whenever I want(I'm totally taking you up on that K!) And I'm so happy my friends got the house they wanted and that he can be in his own home instead of a stables.

But it will be different and you know how much I love change. I'll miss the stables being ten minutes from my house and I'll miss the other horses at the barn.

But it will be fine and probably better than it is now and I need to be more open to change. You would think the last year would have taught me that.

Isn't he handsome?  Love him.

I'm finally getting my 7 year old MacBook fixed and I can't wait for it to be ready.  The keyboard and touch pad were broken and finally it wouldn't turn on at all. I'll be happy to be able to blog on a regular size computer again, and be able to print pictures.  I don't have a printer that works with my ipad. I asked for one for Christmas but it's a bigger purchase so I'm not sure I'll get it.  My birthday is coming too though, so it could be a combination gift.  We'll see.

Speaking of Christmas, Halloween is over and Christmas is upon us!  Don't get me wrong, I love Thanksgiving but the Christmas season is so short and I'm very excited about it this year.

Last year Christmas sucked.  The only other Christmas I can recall that sucked that bad was the Christmas after my mom died.  That one was awful.

But last year was not great.

Last year Joe and I were split up and his living conditions were horrible and I couldn't buy any gifts because I had no money(none).

I love buying (and giving) gifts!

This year is going to be different.  I'm in my own place. I'll probably get a small tree.  Joe and I are together.  I have a tiny little bit of money to buy gifts.

This year is going to be great.  I will make it great.

So it shouldn't surprise you much to learn that I've finished Christmas shopping and I've already done some decorating. I'm a couple of days away from turning on Christmas music in the car.

Tomorrow I'm going to wrap some presents.

Don't judge me. You can celebrate both holidays at the same time, ok?

I  thought maybe  the picture of the hamster decorated for Christmas at the top of the page would soften the blow for those of you who staunchly believe Christmas shouldn't be celebrated until the day after thanksgiving or who are freaked out that I'm done shopping.

It's a hamster!  Decorated for Christmas!  You can't not like that!

I don't dare change my cover photo on Facebook to something Christmassy just yet though. I'll give it a couple more weeks.   ;)
