Girl's Weekend

I had the best weekend.  The.  Best.  Weekend.  It was pure fun from beginning to end.

I flew up Friday morning and Lisa picked me up at the airport.  We picked up lunch and headed to her new house.  It is sooooo pretty.  I can't wait to spend Thanksgiving there in a  couple of weeks.  Lisa had a hair appointment so I went to the kid's school to pick up Grace.  Lisa lives in kind of a small town and I can't tell you how many people said "Hi Lisa" to me while I stood in front of the school waiting for Grace. It's so weird to me.  I know we look alike but sometimes I forget we are twins.  I haven't been confused with her since I was a kid.  (Although I learned at a young age to answer to either Lisa or Michelle.  To this day if someone calls out "Lisa" I will turn my head).

After bringing the kids home from school Lisa and I were on our way to dinner with Kayce, Stacey, and M3.  Everything about that night was perfect.  Delicious food, good conversation, great friends.  We sat there for hours talking.  I thought they were going to kick us out.  :)  I just have so much fun when I am with these girls.  And special thanks to Kayce for making the trip over the mountain in the dark.  You rock Kayce!

After dinner Stacey followed us back to Lisa's house to start our weekend adventure.  We were up bright and early and on our way to Sacramento for the Scrapbook Expo.

First stop:  Starbuck's.  The nice man taking the picture was supposed to get the Starbuck's sign that was directly above us but he didn't so you'll just have to imagine it there.

We drove right by the Capitol on our way to the convention center.  

We stopped  to see if Arnold was moving his stuff out but he wasn't.  At least not while we were there.

Stacey made me get on this buffalo.  No really.  I said I was content to just pose next to it and she said "NO.  Get ON it."  So I did.  I'm pretty sure people walking by thought we were crazy.

I bought this outfit to wear for Joe on Christmas Eve.  Shhhhhh..........don't tell him.  It's a surprise.

It is also a surprise for my sister and family, as that's where we will be spending Christmas eve.

I didn't buy this hat.  I kind of wish I had.  But not to wear with the outfit I bought because that would be over the top.

I had the best time.  What a perfect weekend.  Thank you Lisa for flying me up. Thank you Kayce and M3 for coming out with us. Thank you Stacey for doing the driving into Sacramento.


I am still basking in the fun we had.  It was a really great weekend.

Scrapbook Expo Projects

This is a simple wood frame embellished with patterned paper and flowers. I'm going to be making a bunch more of these for gifts, with different themes.
















Cute Disney Fridge Magnet. These were made out of a cardboard coaster and a magnetic clip. So easy and so cute!


















Disney album. This album was fairly easy to make and it has all kinds of neat pockets and flaps that lift up, making it very interactive. I am in the process of making another one of these, because this one is on it's way to my Sees-ter's house. I had to give it to her. They just came back from a Disney Trip. Plus, she told me I had to.
I really didn't have a choice in the matter. :)

Scrapbook Expo Projects

Here are the pictures of the scrapbook pages I did on Tues. If you have a Memories/Paperzone in your area, they sell their class kits so you can do them at home.
They really did turn out cute and you could simplify them even more by skipping the inking or not using the brads. You could also use letter stickers instead of the foam stamps to spell out "family". I like the look of the stamps, but I find them hard to do(they have to be perfect, remember?) and it is pretty messy with the paint and all. I realize if you are not a scrapbooker you have no idea what I am talking about. Sorry! In other news, I had a follow up with th efoot doctor today. My foot feels much better since wearing the boot, but I still have pain once in awhile, especially when I have been on my feet all day. He says I need to get orthotics. Those are custom made inserts for your shoes. They cost three hundred dollars, and no, they aren't covered by my insurance, thank you very much. He said I have to wear the boot until I am able to have my feet casted for the orthotics. It looks like I'll be wearing the boot for awhile. Sigh. I was truly hoping to get it off today. We simply don't have an extra three hundred dollars right now. Possibly after the holidays, but realistically probably not until February. If my foot is feeling O.K. I may just try to wear the lovely hiking boots he had me buy two months ago, with the temporary orthotic devices he gave me last time. Joe says no way, you are wearing the boot. He should know by now I don't do well with people telling me what to do! :) I was really hoping this would resolve itself on its own, but no such luck.
