92 degrees for the last three days where I live. Blech. Hate it.
I suppose I won't mind it when we are at dragon boat practice next week. I'll be thankful for the sun. The beach can be cold when it's overcast and you are wet from paddling.
Listen to me. I don't like to be hot, I don't like to be cold. Whine, whine, whine.
I'll get over myself now.
There is supposed to be lovely weather next Sunday, which makes me happy because we are going to go apple picking. It's been a long time since we went(we used to go every year) so I'm super excited.
Hopefully I won't go overboard with the apples like I do every year and have to make a boatload of homemade apple sauce. Unlike years past, I don't have a freezer to store it in!
I've been going to a new church and it's growing on me. I wouldn't go so far as to say I love it(yet), but the sermons are good. I've only been twice so I shouldn't really be making any judgements about it yet. I'll keep going.
I've always lived fairly close to Saddleback Church but I've never been. Now it's five minutes from my house and I have people to go with(i hate going to church alone) so I thought I'd give it a try. It's different from most churches I've been to. First off, it's HUGE. I go to the original campus. Right now Pastor Rick is traveling around to all the different campuses so the sermon is projected on the big screen from wherever he is. That part was weird, him not actually being there. I mean, I could just watch it at home right? But if I watch at home I'll get distracted and it won't get my full attention. Plus the music is simply better in person. He's supposed to be back live in the next few weeks so I'm looking forward to that.
I'm going to to continue attending and see how I feel about it in a few months. I am just around the corner from my old church now too, and I think about going back there. But I have no one to go with and I'm always afraid I'm going to run into an old friend that I used to go there with. That's a stupid reason to not go to church, I know. But that's where I'm at right now.
Those were my notes from yesterday's sermon, so you know it was good. And timely. Next time I'll bring a small notebook with me.
The series we are in right now has got me thinking a lot about things that have happened in the past and how they have shaped me for the better. There's a lot rolling around in my head right now on those topics so I'll have to do some thinking on it before I share here.
It's two thirty in the afternoon and I'm contemplating a nap. When it gets cooler we are going to go for a walk. I'm going to commit to walking again on the days I don't go to the stables. Even with my trips to the stables I'm simply not getting enough exercise. As it cools down I have to remedy that.
Overall it's been a very relaxing weekend. I wish weekends were a little bit longer! Don't we all?
