Good Friends, Good Food, Good Times

Today I met up with a couple of good friends. We met through an infertility support group over three years ago and we try to get together to catch up as often as we can, but it had been awhile since our last visit so I was really looking forward to it. I'm so glad we were able to make it work before our schedules go into full crazy holiday mode. We met at a new place that we hadn't tried before and it was quite good.

Joe took this picture of me before I left:

Here is Jenny with her handsome son Daniel:
Here's Lynn and her daughter Angie:

Angie and Daniel pause for a second(and I do mean one second) on the bench so I can get a quick pic. Angie is waving "Hi". Sooooooo cute!
Angie had some fries with her ketchup. Girl loves her ketchup :)

Angie has a 3 month old little brother Andrew too, but he had to stay home with Lynn's mom because he wasn't feeling well. Angie is 19 months old, so Lynn has her hands full!

Jenny just announced that she is pregnant with twin boys, so she will have her hands even more full come this Spring. So excited for her!

Everything was going well until they asked me about the adoption, and then I burst into tears right there in the middle of lunch.

Nice.

I'm not quite sure what came over me. I wasn't even feeling particularly emotional today, but when they asked, it was total waterworks.

How embarrassing.

If there is anyone who understands how I feel though, it is these two and I was able to pull it together and we had a lovely time after that.

There were originally four of us in the group, but T moved away and I haven't seen her in over a year. I really hope we can get together when she comes to Cali to visit her family over the holidays.

Between the four of us, there will be six children that have joined the group since we met in the summer of 2005. I do hope to one day introduce them all to my own daughter, even if their children are in high school by the time it actually happens.

Just kidding.

Sort of.

I just picked up my Christmas card photos at Cost.Co today. (Note to self: Do NOT go to Cost.Co on a Saturday during the holidays to pick up just one thing. Do not!)

My goal is to get them addressed and ready to go out on Monday.

If I don't get sidetracked that is.

Wish me luck.

And just for fun, my husband sent me this link and I have watched it about ten times and I think it is so adorable. I thought of Shanny when I saw it.

I love it.

I SO understand where you're coming from...and it's happened to me more often than I care to admit.

I can understand where you are coming from.....I am sure it was difficult to meet your friends and their beautiful children, when you are longing to have yours. This wait is like a never ending roller coaster of emotions!!

Big hugs to you,

Lisa

Michelle.

Your new blog design is absolutely gorgeous. I need to do something new with mine soon.

I am so glad you enjoyed yourself and your friends look like sweethearts. I am sorry that you got upset. I completely understand, you have every right to get upset. No one thought that China would draw out these adoptions for this long. I feel for you my friend and hope that Sophie is home very soon. I am glad your good friends were there to help perk you back up.

Hugs,
Jonni

Hugs my friend. I know just where you are at and those tears are OK! It seems you have very supportive friends there that will be there till Sophie is in your arms. Think of the joy when you are all together someday! Can't wait to see you in a few weeeks.

oh, great pics, Michelle! I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for your gathering. I hope we can get together when we come home for x-mas, too. I don't know yet if the dates will work out for x-mas due to a work emergency, but we have our fingers crossed!

Oh my heck that clip reminds me of our Willie. He would do the same thing ALL the time. Thanks for sharing it. Nice picture in front of your door too :-)

Hi Michelle, it's Jenny. I always feel so special when I make it into one of your blog postings! Thanks again for organizing our lunch and PLEASE don't be embarrassed about being sad that this adoption process is taking SOOOO long. Yes, Lynn and I understand the intense desire to have a child, but we also know we are among the lucky ones who found some resolution to the infertility. We will always be here to support you and know that someday (hopefully soon) you will make an awesome mom! Hang in there.

That video is HILARIOUS. My dog RARELY does that and on occasion I'll try everything in my power to get her to do it, just because it's so cute :)
