Tis the Season

For stress.

I'm kind of taking a little break from this here blog. I didn't plan on it, but it just kind of worked out that way. I have been so stressed out lately. Christmas is a stressful time anyway. Throw in a jam packed weekend, a couple of counseling sessions and worrying about how we're going to pay the bills, let alone Christmas and I'm pretty much toast.

I am always going on and on about how much I love Christmas. The lights, and the giving of gifts, the music, the decorations. All of it.

This year? Not loving it so much.

This year it is hurtling towards me at warp speed and I feel woefully unprepared.

I have only bought one gift. I found myself overwhelmed when I looked around and saw that there were Christmas cards to sign, and bracelets to mail and packages to send and gifts to finish making and wrapping to do.

Sunday, after a very long day where I left the house at 8:00 a.m. and returned home after five in the evening, I came to the realization that this year I am spending so much time worrying about the stuff I need to get done for Christmas that I am not enjoying the season.

At. All.

And it will be over before I know it. And then when it's over I will regret all of the worrying I did and I'll wish that I had stopped with the worrying already and that I had taken the time to just enjoy this time of year.

So on Sunday I decided that I spend entirely too much time on the internet and decided to cut down on my time here until after Christmas. Not just here. On the computer period.

Yesterday instead of spending most of my day chained to the computer, I cleaned our apartment(like spring cleaning clean), and made out my Christmas cards and packaged up the name bracelets I need to send, as well as two packages, and finished up some handmade gifts.

It's amazing the things you can get done when you step away from the computer :)

So I may not be around too much in the next couple of weeks. I will probably still be reading some, but maybe not commenting as much and not posting here as often.

I've got 13 days left to soak up as much Christmas as I can. And that's what I intend to do.

****If you are receiving a name bracelet from me for your girls, I most likely will not get them in the mail until early next week. I plan on making only one trip to the post office to mail packages and purchase stamps and such and it looks like it won't be until Tuesday. I'll let you know for sure when I pop them in the mail so you can look for them.*******

Love the new look! (Yes, I'm behind in checking out my friend's blogs.) I'm almost done shopping, but haven't decorated a stich, and have to have much of my cookie baking done by next Wed as my kids need to start bringing them for teacher gifts. If it weren't for my kids, I wouldn't put up my tree this year, but I don't think they'll let me get away with that.

Enjoy your hiatus. Hope you get a lot done and find time to de-stress.

Everyone needs a break from time to time. This is the second time I have visited your blog and I'm excited to follow your journey to your daughter. So you take all the time you need and we'll be right here for you when you return.

Your blog looks so pretty! I love the makeover.

I think you're wise to spend time on holiday preparations instead of whiling away the hours on the internet like I do...

:-)

Hang on Michelle and do what you need too. Stop and remember Christmas for what it is and throw out all that "other" stuff. Sending you hugs!

Boy do I understand about the stress! Breathe.

And, btw, you are tooooo awesome! We got the bracelet yesterday and it is just beautiful. Kailee loves it and recognizes her name and says the letters. Like I said before, you are one talented girl.
Thank you so much!
