Complete and Total Randomness

Today I was walking on my lunch break. I really hate it. But I force myself to do it anyway.

So I’m walking and about halfway through (15 minutes from my work) I start to have a bloody nose. A bad one. Blood dripping everywhere. I didn’t want it to get on my scrubs (although if you’re gonna have a bloody nose at work I guess scrubs would be the thing you’d want to be wearing).

So I’m leaning forward, catching the blood in my bare hands, trying not to get it on me because I didn’t want to spend the rest of the day in blood soaked scrubs. I actually ended up kneeling in the grass on the side of the road, bleeding all over.

Fun times.

After a few minutes it stopped bleeding and I continued on my walk. I was starting on the last leg, which is all uphill and I was leaning forward and looking down at the ground (which is the easiest way for me to walk uphill) and I saw something lying in the middle of the sidewalk.

As I got closer I couldn’t distinguish what it was so I bent over to get a better look. Oh how I wish I hadn’t done that.

It was a skull.

A skull! Of a small animal (probably a cat). Completely clean of skin or fur. We do have coyotes close to my work, so I’m thinking it was a victim of one of those. Sad. But also Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Overall not a great walking day today

Changing subjects.

Yesterday I was at the Costco pharmacy and a man pulled up in his motorized scooter and told the man at the pharmacy counter that he would like to see their walkers. The pharmacy man showed him where they were and I sat there on the bench and suddenly it hit me:

Someday I’m going to need a walker.

Don’t laugh. Joe totally laughed at me when I told him. But it’s true. I can barely walk now. I know I don’t have to worry about it for a long long time. And yet it is in the back of my mind.

Changing subjects again.

Every day Joe says something that makes me smile or laugh. Here are some things he has said lately:

Him: What’s for dinner tonight?
Me: I put some salmon out to defrost.
Him: Oh. I don’t really want to have that. Can we have something else?
Me: Why? What’s wrong with Salmon?
Him: It’s just so……………fishy.
Me: Okaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy

The other night I was standing naked in the bathroom getting ready to get into the shower. I was checking myself out in the mirror and I was frowning. I was actually probably making the same face I did when I saw the skull on the sidewalk today :)

He walks into the bathroom and sees me making that face at myself in the mirror.

Do you know what he said to me?

“God, you’re beautiful”.

Awwwwwww……………….how sweet.

I mean he is obviously blind and needs glasses, but still sweet.

I don’t have a lot going on this weekend. Dragon Boat practices start up again on Sunday so I’m looking forward to that.

How about you? Anything fun planned for the weekend?

That sucks about your walk.. I can't imagine how bad the nose bleed was... What a bad place for that to happen!!!
The skull thing was gross but I think it would be grosser if it wasn't cleaned.
Dragon boat practice sounds like fun! I can't wait to hear how it goes.
I don't really have any plans with weekend. I think we are going to try this new church again tomorrow night, they have a special needs department for Matty where he can receive one on one care. I am crossing my fingers that it works.

Joe is a sweetheart. :)

As far as plans for this weekend...I've planned Josh's surprise party (and it's actually STILL a secret!)
