Funday

Today has been a fun Sunday. Joe and I have spent it alone together, which is something we haven't had a chance to do in some time. With his night job hours, it has been hard to catch him when his awake! Today we slept in, had breakfast, and took a drive down the coast.

First we stopped in at the Animal Shelter to check out the dogs. I am convinced that we will stop there one day and fall completely in love with one of the dogs and adopt him/her.

Today was not that day. It's a good thing that Joe comes with me, because I would come home with a dog every single time if he weren't there to be the voice of reason.

There was a gorgeous 3 year old red Doberman for adoption that was so sweet. Unfortunately that is one of the breeds that our apartment complex does not allow(along with Rottweiler's and Pit Bulls), which is such a shame because Dobermans are smart and loving and great with kids.

After visiting with the doggies we went over and saw the seals and sea lions again. I can never get enough of them, although there were far less animals there this time around(last time we were there it was summer), but I'm thinking that's a good thing because it means they have been re-released into the wild.

After that we headed down Pacific Coast Highway and ended up in our favorite town, Laguna Beach. We walked around for a bit but it was very windy and a tad chilly so we didn't stay long. Yesterday it was in the mid-eighties. What's up with that? Here's a few pictures we took:

One of the little guys in need of a home. Joe thought he was a bit homely. I, of course thought that was part of his charm.
Main beach

The surf was rough due to the wind

Joe is very enamored of these art signs that grace the railings of an overlook of the beach.

I think we must have at least a couple dozen of pictures of these signs from various trips into Laguna

Now we are home and are going to watch make dinner together and watch a movie. A fun day!

****P.S.--Joe just read my post and he totally made me change some of the wording. You would think he was an English teacher or something. Sheesh.**********

P.S.S. We had a blast at D-Land last night. It wasn't overwhelmingly crowed and we got to ride several rides and watch the fireworks show, which was simply amazing. Seriously. If you are visiting D-Land, stay for the fireworks show. Totally worth it. Sadly, I have no pictures of D-land. Not because I didn't remember my camera, because I did. What I did not remember, however, was to put the battery back in after I took it out to charge it. Duh! I took a few (blurry)pictures with my Iphone, but the rest of the pictures will have to come from DeAnn, who remembered to bring both her camera and the battery for it.
