I didn't pack up the nursery today. Instead I spent the day in bed with a heat pack on my head.

I have been having migraines. I'm not sure what's causing them but they are awful.

I used to have migraines all the time. 7 or 8 years ago. It was determined at that time they were caused by fluctuating hormones. Or the pill. It was so long ago that I honestly can't remember what the cause or treatment was. I know my doctor prescribed some sort of medication(not Imi.trex) and I think it worked for me. I really don't remember. They simply went away on their own and I haven't had one since.

Then Bam! I just started having them again, totally out of the blue. I have had four in the last 5weeks alone. Almost one a week.

I guess another trip to the doctor is in order because each one has lasted at least two days and they really are disrupting my life.

I have not been eating any of the trigger foods and I have not changed the level of my hormone patch so I have no idea what is causing them to come on all of a sudden like this.

It really is always something with me, isn't it?

I have decided not to do any more crying about packing up the nursery. I have done plenty already and it's time to suck it up and move forward. It's not forever. I just have to keep telling myself that.

It's not forever.

Does anyone have any experience/knowledge/suggestions for the migraines? They are awful.

You certainly have been having a rough go of it over the last while. My heart goes out to you as you pack away Sophie’s things. I know it is tough because we packed away most of “Maggie’s” stuff about 1-½ years ago.

Just remember it is for now, not forever!

Good luck with the migraines. Sorry I don’t have any advice, I only get them about 3-4 times a year and usually I can handle them with Advil and rest. Take care ((HUGS))

Smiles! :o)

I do not have severe ones but I will say, I love Excedrine Migraine. It sometimes gives me the shakes if I have not eaten before I take it, but it does work.

Are you sure it's not stress-related? You've certainly been under more than your fair share of it lately. I've been on a ton of meds for migraines and nothing seems to really work (consistently) for mine.

I've been on Topiramate (Topamax), Tylenol 3s, and a few other meds that, unfortunately, don't come to mind right now.

I can't give advice about the migraines. But, please know I have been thinking of you.

Try not to deny your feelings too much.

I know you love that nursery and you WILL do another. I haven't started mine and won't for a very long time.

Huge, huge hugs to ya... can't say that I have suffered from those but if you want I will have some of your pain for you...
I know what you mean about packing away the nursery... I done that a few months ago... well, quiet a few months ago... just packed away alot of Shauna's stuff... all I know is when it got to the point for me of WAY TO MUCH, I just went on with life and just got busy doing stuff and trying to not worry about it... hugs...

I was also thinking that all the stress you are under might be triggering them.

Hugs and keep smilin!

One suggestion - check and see if you aren't clentching your teeth/jaw. Put an eraser or pencil between your teeth for a while and check it out. Stress is a cause, but sometimes you add muscle tension without knowing it.

Gentle exercise that works upper head and neck can help relieve the muscle tension.

The excedrine migraine is a good suggestion - you have to catch at the very first sign though.

Do you have food allergies? That can be a trigger.

Also important - get enough magnesium in your diet. I just use the cheap stuff from rite aid (250 MG. Unfortunatly this is more of a long term fix - it takes several months. But if you are on any diuretics they can reduce magnesium in your body.

I am a major migrainer, so I'll think of anything else I can.

I am sorry, I know it is miserable.

I'm wondering if your stress level is responsible for the migraines. My bio mother used to get wicked ones. For her all it took was cutting off the coffee and hot chocolate she had daily. Hope you feel better soon.

Thinking about you Michelle. I hope those migraines leave as quickly as they came.
