I am exhausted.

All we did today was drive from one place to another, over 60 miles total, trying to get some necessary things done and return cars to people who so graciously lent them to us.

Tired.

But guess what?

We now have one operable car!  Yay us!  Seriously, I'm doing a happy dance over here.  What a huge relief.

The only bummer is that it is Joe's car that got fixed, and not mine and I can't drive his car because I don't know how to drive a stick shift.

I know, I know, I need to learn to drive a stick.  I really do.  But I'm scared. Don't give me a hard time.  O.K.?

Joe says he is going to give me lessons this weekend.  That should be interesting.

In the meantime, the car sharing continues, only now I am completely reliant on him to get me to and fro.  I'm very independent, so this is going to drive me crazy.

But still!  We have a working car!  And as soon as our tax rebate comes, we're getting my car fixed, so not much longer.

(Am I the only one who totally searched the internet to find out exactly when our tax rebate is going to be mailed? Because I did.  And I know the exact date the check will arrive at our house.)

I'm off to make dinner and just chill knowing that

Dude!  We have a car!

Yay! One problem solved, now on to the next!

And no, you're not the only one who checked on their tax rebate. I looked a long time ago. I have direct deposit, so mine should be here in the next week or so. YEAH!!!!

Have a good week!

Yippee!!! So glad things are going down the right road.... total punn intended with the road choice. But really... glad you are seeing an end to the car breakage problem.

Glad you got at least one car working. I learned to drive a stick in one lesson before ride-sharing to California my senior year in college. Haven't driven one since, but at least I can say I tried. Oh, I did direct deposit, so mine will show up in my checking account on May 16th.
Sounds like things are looking up today. I saw a great quote today: "Once you choose hope, anything's possible." [Christopher Reeve].

Don't worry about not driving stick. I don't drive at all! I know I should too but I have issues when it comes to driving.

I insisted on each of our kids (my two steps) that they drive a stick car for their first car (the whole "car" issue, when and what age, and who pays is another long story). Since they could not have a car until they learned and the the car had to be a stick, they were VERY motivated.
I always believed a young girl/lady should drive a stick (never know when they need to drive their boyfriend's car out of a STICKY situation)!! My new daughter will be treated the same, a used manual car for the first car. JMHO.
