Do you ever wonder

This question is just for you bloggers out there. The ones who actually have blogs. Do you ever wonder why people who used to read your blog don't anymore?(Even though you still read theirs) Or people who used to comment on your blog stopped commenting?(Even though you still comment on theirs) Do you ever feel like you did something to cause this? I think I need to get rid of my Stat counter if these are the kinds of questions it conjurs. I don't have my blog because I want to be popular, or get the most comments. I think the most comments I ever received was twelve. And it doesn't matter. It really doesn't. But sometimes I wonder what happened to certain readers, or why people don't comment more. My guess is that it is because my blog isn't the "happy" blog, where everything is sunshine and roses. We've been having a rough time of it lately, and I am brutally honest about it. That leads to some depressing stuff and I think people don't really want to hear it. That's just my guess. Or, as Joe would put it "Not everything is about Me", and people have lives and are busy and don't have time to comment on everyone's blogs. He always has a way of putting things into perspective, doesn't he? Time to go check my Stat counter! (I am kidding. I only check that thing like once a month or so. I was just missing some people who used to visit and don't anymore)

I think it's more important to have a journal that makes you feel good, if that's "letting it out" or talking about your child..whatever it is, then it's important...I bet you have a lot readers that don't comment all the time...wait until you get your referral, they will ALL come out of the woodwork!

i'm a lurker on your blog, i read it all the time and feel for the hard times you are going thru... i'm alot older and i have been thru those times also, so i know they pass leaving you stronger, it's just getting thru them that is hard. some day you will look back and know that you will be ok because you did get thru them. you will have a job(maybe not love it but appriciate having it and meeting new people you may really like) you'll have a beautiful child and a different life and it will mean so much more to you. i know you'll be fine just keep the faith. i sometimes feel like i shuld not comment as i'm not adopting, my daughter is and i can only imagine the pain of the want ing and the wait... you probably have alot of people reading your blog like me who are interested in you and whatis happenng. good luck and remember the clouds go away and the sun comes thru.....

I don't spend a lot of time wondering any more. I used to spend a bunch of time checking out my statcounter, but now, to be honest, it usually comes down to "computer or shower?" And, well, um, the poor neglected shower wins every time... ;-)

People are funny about commenting, by the way. You'll have a hundred times more views than comments. Don't worry about it, just keep blogging about whatever you need to -- this blog is for YOU.

Well, I agree with Stacey T. I use my blog as a way to work out issues, like a diary, and to connect with others. If you want lots of commenters, you could probably find a way to get them, but I think you have your own story to tell and that is what you should do.

As someone who reads a lot of blogs, I usually skim them and then if something "strikes" me, I will post a comment. Otherwise I buzz on to another site.

I have been reading your blog only for a couple months... have commented only once or twice ~ but check a couple times a day because I am so hoping to hear some good news for you1 I really want you to get that job you need/want and get your referral! Funny, I don't know you, but I will be so happy for you when your world is "right"!!! I hope it is today!!! Rebel

Since I started reading a lot of my blogs on bloglines, I don't comment as much. Sad but true.

I try not to take it personally. Then again, I haven't been the biggest blogger lately.

Too funny Michelle! I've often wondered the SAME EXACT THINGS!! The last little blogger break I took was good for me because I came back to it and had a new attitude about being "popular" or checking on my comments all the time. Now I just write and don't care if anyone read my blog or not. I do like Mary Mias comment..."computer or shower?"! I can't wait to make that choice!

I'll still be here to make comments for you!
