Help Needed

If there is anyone out there who has let their paperwork expire and is now updating their paperwork under the new Hague guidelines, could you please contact me? I am confused and frustrated and my agency is not being helpful. How much did your agency charge to do a Hague update? Is is possible to switch home study agencies at this point? Any information you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. scrappermg@cox.net

Well darn it anyway Michelle! So sorry you're having yet ANOTHER hiccup in meeting YOUR Sophie. Have you posted this on Rumor Queen? Seems to be some good info. out there on Hague stuff. Sending you good thoughts. Been a tough week here too for different reasons. GRRRRR! Girl Power!

From everything I've seen, there's a ton of confusion out there about the I-800a. I'd imagine they'll have it all ironed out in the next 6 months or so. Just a thought...but if you're already expired why not just wait until closer to referral to re-new? That way the questions should be answered by then and you won't risk expiring AGAIN. :(

I'll be on my 3rd next summer. Unless by some miracle the CCAA speeds up. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Oure is expired. Our LID is 10/19/06. We are going to wait to see actual movement before we update. I know you have to have ten hours of Hagues education. That is about all I know. I would love to know what you find out.

In all the various 'resources' our agency is giving us, I found a yahoo group for parents adopting from China...there is a lot of talk on their board about expiring fingerprints, 1600 & I800 forms, etc. -- wondering if you might be interested in joining and seeing if the folks there could help you?

The link is
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/a-parents-china/

you have to request to join (might have to make up a yahoo email address to do so) and they approve your request within a day or so, and you can post. They send you info on the rules, guidelines etc.

Hope this helps. I'm sorry your agency isn't so helpful. After all the confidence/trust & money you've placed with them, they should really do whatever they can to help you! Our agency in IL seems to be very helpful so far. (Lifelink Agency) (Crossing my fingers they always will be...)

We are just starting to complete our I800a this weekend and getting the last few steps done...and our dossier should be out the door by Oct...*crossing fingers*....I am sure with this horribly long wait, we'll probably go through this same thing you are...and have to renew it. (grrr! they oughta refine this process or laws on this part of it, since it's obviously such an issue for everyone!)

Good luck. *Hugs* Keep us all posted...
